The North Carolina Republican U.S. Senate primary has been defined by party infighting, bitter feuding, and negative attack ads. Pat McCrory and Mark Walker have been accusing Ted Budd, who refuses to debate, of being “cowardly” and “hiding behind the pro-China, DC special interests.” Today’s debate will be more of the same as the candidates take the debate stage for the first time. 

Yesterday, North Carolina Democrats spoke out on their backwards priorities, putting their own petty politics over improving the lives of North Carolina voters.

If the intra-party battle on the debate stage isn’t enough, Club for Growth, which has endorsed Ted Budd, disclosed yesterday that they are spending an additional $295,000 in negative attack ads against Pat McCrory.
