NCDP Statement on First Lady Jill Biden’s Visit with Military and Veteran Families at Camp Lejeune Today

North Carolina Democratic Party (NCDP) Chair Bobbie Richardson released the following statement on First Lady Jill Biden’s visit to engage in a listening session with military and veteran families at the Marine Corps Base at Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville, North Carolina today:

“The thirteen brave service members that we lost last week, including two soldiers based in North Carolina military stations, who served in Fort Bragg’s 1st Special Forces Command and the Marine Expeditionary Force at Camp Lejeune, were heroes fulfilling a dangerous, selfless mission to not only protect our country, but save the lives of others. We owe them and their families a debt of gratitude we can never repay.

“As we look to a future that is safe, that is secure, and that honors those who served and all those who gave what President Lincoln called their last full measure of devotion, we’re grateful to First Lady Jill Biden for visiting Camp Lejeune today to listen to and support military and veteran families during this difficult time.”
