Following the release of the latest national unemployment figures this morning, NCDP Executive Director Meredith Cuomo released the following statement:

“Just weeks ago we saw North Carolina’s unemployment rate jump to 8.5 percent while hundreds of thousands of people remain out of work through no fault of their own. Today’s numbers show that millions of Americans continue to suffer in this recession because of the mismanagement of the Trump administration, and the reality is it didn’t have to be this bad. Donald Trump’s leadership throughout this crisis has left working North Carolinians high and dry, with eviction numbers rising and far too many families unsure where their next paycheck will come from. Our state deserves a president with a real plan to get us out of this mess, and that’s Joe Biden.”
