Budd, McCrory Silent As Walker & NC GOP Embrace Lt. Governor Mark Robinson’s Hateful Comments

U.S. Senate candidates Ted Budd and Pat McCrory have been silent after the highest ranking North Carolina Republican, Lieutenant Governor Mark Robinson, referred to the LGBTQ+ community as “filth.” Their primary opponent, Mark Walker, and the North Carolina Republican Party have since released statements in support of Robinson.

Do Ted Budd and Pat McCrory agree with Mark Walker and their own party or will they condemn these abhorrent comments?

“Mark Walker’s full-on embrace of Robinson’s hateful comments is disgraceful and further proof that he is unfit to serve our state,” said NCDP spokesperson Kate Frauenfelder. “North Carolinians deserve a leader who will reject hate, protect the rights of all, and ensure our state is a welcoming and inclusive place to live, work, and raise a family. Ted Budd and Pat McCrory’s silence is cowardly.”
