This month, the families of nearly 2 million children in North Carolina began seeing much-needed monthly tax cuts hit their bank accounts thanks to President Biden and Democrats’ expanded Child Tax Credit included in the American Rescue Plan.

Despite opposition from every single member of the North Carolina Republican congressional delegation, these monthly tax cuts are providing relief for working families in North Carolina to afford daycare, putting food on the table, and doctors appointments for their children. The expanded Child Tax Cut is expected to lift 137,000 children out of poverty in North Carolina.
