After years of pushing their radical, anti-choice agenda, North Carolina Republicans, thanks to conservative justices on the Supreme Court, are closer than ever to overturning Roe v. Wade and risking tens of millions of Americans’ control over their own bodies. This attack on Americans’ fundamental freedom to make their own health care decisions is wildly unpopular – Americans say Roe v. Wade should be upheld by about a 2-1 margin. This shows just how out of touch North Carolina Republicans are, and now Republicans in the Tar Heel State have to own their disastrous, unpopular anti-choice agenda.
As the GOP tries to distract from the fact that this is the direct result of their extreme, years-long campaign against reproductive rights, here are three questions every North Carolina Republican needs to answer about their attacks on Americans’ fundamental freedom to make their own decisions about their health care:
- Do you support the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade, which has been settled law for almost half a century?
- Do you think abortion should be illegal in North Carolina?
- Do you support a federal abortion ban?
