Statement on the U.S. Exceeding 200,000 Coronavirus Deaths

Following the news that the United States has surpassed 200,000 deaths related to the coronavirus, NCDP Chairman Wayne Goodwin released the following statement:

“This grim milestone is a heart wrenching reminder of the losses we continue to endure because of this pandemic and our president’s bungled response. Here in North Carolina, we’ve lost more than 3,000 lives to the virus along with hundreds of thousands of jobs while our case numbers continue to rise. The reality is the situation didn’t have to be this bad; but instead of steady, effective leadership guiding our federal response, we’ve suffered through Donald Trump’s erratic, incoherent management of the situation. While it’s clear Trump isn’t capable of meeting this moment, Joe Biden has the experience and judgement to lead us out of this crisis, and that’s exactly why we need to elect him president on November 3.”
