QUICK CLIP: GOP Senate Hopeful Mark Walker Admits “There Are Divisions” In GOP, Says Graham Isn’t Right About Lara Trump

This weekend, the Republican primary started to boil over as Senator Richard Burr’s impeachment vote sent Mark Walker, the North Carolina Republican Party, and Trump allies into a tailspin, including Lindsey Graham, who went on Fox News to all but endorse Lara Trump for the Republican nomination if she ran. Less than 24 hours later, Mark Walker went on the air to defend himself against a candidate that’s not even in the race yet.

When asked about Sen. Graham’s comments, he said: “Well, in the words of, I believe it was John Ashcroft: Lindsey is always confident, but not always right.”

North Carolina is quickly becoming ground zero for the GOP civil war, and even Mark Walker admits — “there are divisions.”

ANCHOR: “North Carolina Republicans are looking to censure Senator Burr after he voted to convict former President Trump in the second impeachment trial. Senator Lindsey Graham saying that Burr’s move all but guarantees Lara Trump could be the nominee for his seat if she decides to run. Your reaction to that?”

MARK WALKER: “Well, in the words of, I believe it was John Ashcroft: Lindsey is always confident, but not always right.”

FOX NEWS CONTRIBUTOR BRIAN BRENBERG: “Conventional wisdom out there is that Republicans will be divided going forward, primarily over former President Trump. As you look ahead to running for this Senate seat, and you look at the Republican Party period, do you see a lot of division or do you see opportunities to unify?”

MARK WALKER: “Great question, but I think the answer to it is both. There are divisions.”
