North Carolina’s DNC members — Chairman Wayne Goodwin, First Vice Chair Dr. Bobbie Richardson, Diane Robertson, Denise Adams, Matt Hughes, Jenny Marshall, John Verdejo, and Shelia Huggins — issued a statement today in support of Jaime Harrison as the next DNC Chair, following reports that President-elect Joe Biden planned to name him as head of the committee.

“We are thrilled to see Jaime Harrison tapped for this important role and emphatically support him as our next DNC Chair. His vast knowledge of state parties, ability to connect with and organize voters around our shared values, and his deep sense of service and integrity will be invaluable to Democrats across the country and here in North Carolina. We know that he will be laser-focused on doing everything he can to bolster the Democratic majority going into the 2022 midterm elections, and couldn’t ask for a better person to be on the frontlines with.”
