Week of action will include phone banking and press events to connect volunteers to organizing opportunities to call out the North Carolina GOP’s anti-choice agenda

The North Carolina Democratic Party today is launching a Defend Choice Week of Action as part of a national push that will run from July 12-19 to mobilize supporters and engage voters across the country to call out Republicans for opposing abortion rights, highlight what is at stake in November, and organize to elect Democrats up and down the ballot as the backstop to protecting abortion rights.

To get involved in the Week of Action, North Carolinians can visit www.DefendChoice.org for local organizing opportunities. Additionally, the North Carolina Democratic Party is planning events such as Roe v. Wade Day of Action phone bank, press events and more. 

“Republicans’ decades-long attack on reproductive rights is the root of the conservative Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade – and now the North Carolina GOP is going even further to try and make abortions illegal in our state, even in cases of rape and incest, going against North Carolinians’ wishes. This Defend Choice Week of Action is a chance for North Carolinians to turn their anger into action by working with the North Carolina Democratic Party to hold Republicans accountable and help elect Democrats up and down the ticket to protect their rights,” said NCDP Spokesperson Ellie Dougherty.
