North Carolina Democratic Party Chair Anderson Clayton released the following statement: 

“Thank you Governor Cooper for vetoing this harmful legislation and never backing down in the fight to protect reproductive freedom. Now, we must all get to work to make sure legislators in Raleigh, especially those who made campaign promises to protect abortion access, know that this is not what North Carolinians want. North Carolina Democrats call on people across the state to take action: contact your legislators and tell them they must uphold the veto and protect your freedoms.”
