NC House Dems Statement on President Trump’s Racism During the Debate

On Tuesday night, President Trump had multiple chances to say he disavowed white supremacy. And, once again, he refused. Now, white supremacist groups are celebrating Trump’s answers and using them for recruitment.

Democratic Leader Darren Jackson has released the following statement:

“There is no place for racism in America, and if Donald Trump refuses to condemn racism there is no place in our government for him. His constant debate interruptions and lack of control show that he is a weak leader. There is nothing he can say about how to get the virus under control, make health care better, or get Americans back to work. Instead, he tells a racist hate group to ‘stand by.’ We’ve come to expect this from Donald Trump but it’s shocking and disappointing the North Carolina Republicans have not immediately condemned his racism and hatred. We deserve better – let’s vote them out of office.”z
