Today, DC insider Michael Whatley was “honored” to have the endorsement of Washington Republican Jim Jordan, who has repeatedly pushed an agenda that hurts North Carolinians.
Jordan’s dangerous record includes:
- Voting against FEMA disaster relief funding right before Hurricane Helene devastated Western North Carolina.
- Voting to gut Medicaid for hundreds of thousands of North Carolinians and spike costs for working families, just to give a tax handout to billionaires.
- Staunchly opposing the Affordable Care Act and playing a lead role in trying to dismantle as many of its provisions as possible, including Medicaid Expansion.
Whatley is pushing the same agenda. Just yesterday, Western North Carolinians called on FEMA to fire him for his failure to deliver federal Helene relief. Then, new reporting revealed he pressured North Carolina elected officials to publicly back the toxic GOP bill gutting Medicaid and raising costs.
“What a surprise – Michael Whatley is cozying up to a fellow DC insider who has a record of hurting North Carolinians,” said Mallory Payne, senior communications advisor for the North Carolina Democratic Party. “From leaving behind North Carolina families trying to recover from Hurricane Helene, to repeatedly putting health care in jeopardy, Michael Whatley only cares about serving special interests and billionaires.”
