Republicans are “worried” about their field in the North Carolina Senate race, according to reporting from Salon.Congressman Ted Budd, former Congressman Mark Walker, and former Governor Pat McCrory’s continued personal attacks on each other and attempts to “out-Trump” one another have completely “derailed” the primary.

“GOP primary candidates in this nasty race are so busy working to Trumpify their campaigns and undermine their opponents that they’ve forgotten about the people of North Carolina,” said Kate Frauenfelder, a NCDP spokeswoman. “As countless rounds of infighting and insults continue to embroil the primary, Republican operatives in the state are getting increasingly nervous about their chances next fall.”
