Recent reporting from Roll Call provides further evidence that the Republican field in the North Carolina U.S. Senate race is shifting to the far-right, highlighting Congressman Ted Budd and former Congressman Mark Walker’s involvement in formally backing a Texas lawsuit seeking to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election.

“North Carolina voters can’t count on the GOP field of candidates when it comes to standing up for democracy,” said NCDP spokesperson Kate Frauenfelder. “They have proven time and again that they’ll side with conspiracy theorists spewing corrosive lies and put their own political interests ahead of the truth.”
