NCDP Welcomes Vice President Harris to Durham, Calls Out GOP for Voting Against Lowering Healthcare Costs

North Carolina Democratic Party (NCDP) Chair Bobbie Richardson released the following statement ahead of Vice President Kamala Harris’ event in Durham today, where she will discuss the Biden-Harris administration’s efforts to lower healthcare costs for seniors:

“We’re thrilled to welcome Vice President Harris back to Durham today to celebrate the Biden-Harris administration’s work to lower healthcare costs for North Carolinians. Earlier this month, President Biden signed the Inflation Reduction Act into law, which will cap prescription drug costs for Medicare recipients, reduce health insurance premiums, expand healthcare coverage, cap insulin copayments and more.

“Despite lowering healthcare costs and putting money back in the pockets of North Carolina seniors, Congressman Ted Budd and every other North Carolina Republican voted against this historic bill. The Vice President’s visit today makes clear that Democrats are delivering results for our state while Republicans don’t have a plan to help working people.”
