NCDP Statement on September Unemployment Figures
“Today’s news shows our economic recovery continues to lag. Working North Carolinians have been left high and dry as our labor force shrinks and thousands continue to lose their health insurance. Some 72,000 people across our state dropped out of the workforce in August while our unemployment rate remains high. Working families across North Carolina have borne the brunt of this crisis, and we need leaders up and down the ballot who are committed to putting them first. That means investing in small businesses, raising wages and helping local communities combat the spread of COVID-19. As North Carolinians continue to cast their ballots, Joe Biden has shown he has the vision and experience to get the job done.”
