NCDP Statement on President Biden Signing Nine Bipartisan Veterans Bills Into Law

North Carolina Democratic Party (NCDP) Chair Bobbie Richardson and Dr. Vikki Andrews, NCDP’s Veteran and Military Family Caucus Chair, released a joint statement following President Biden signing nine bipartisan bills that honor and improve care for veterans into law today:

“North Carolina is the proud home to one of the largest military and veteran populations in the country, and the contributions of these North Carolinians make our country and state stronger. Since day one in office, President Biden has worked to provide opportunities for service members to succeed when their service ends – a personal goal to the president and the First Lady who know what it is like to have a loved one serve.

“While there’s more work to be done, the signing of nine bipartisan bills today, which will expand access to high-quality breast cancer screening, improve breast imaging services, and make sure that Americans who developed cancer and other medical conditions due to the nation’s World War II-era nuclear program can continue to be compensated for the harms they have suffered, is a significant step towards ensuring that veterans, including in North Carolina, receive the care and support they earned and deserve. ”
