NCDP Announces New Communications Director

RALEIGH, NC – Today, the North Carolina Democratic Party announced Kate Frauenfelder as Communications Director. Robert Howard will remain in his role as Senior Communications Advisor to facilitate the transition before transitioning to opportunities outside of the party.

“We’re delighted to welcome Kate Frauenfelder to the team at the start of the legislative session and on the cusp of the new Biden-Harris administration,” said NCDP Executive Director Meredith Cuomo. “She will bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table as we work to hold Republicans accountable, make in-roads in the state legislature, and strengthen the Demcoratic majority in the midterm elections.”

Frauenfelder most recently worked on Cal Cunningham’s U.S. Senate campaign, where she served as Deputy Press Secretary. Originally from Durham, North Carolina, and a UNC-Chapel Hill alumna, she has also worked in communication roles for State Representatives Graig Meyer and Zack Hawkins, Maven Strategies, and NextGen America.

“North Carolina is my home, and I am thrilled for the opportunity to continue working to elect Democrats up and down the ballot in a state that I love,” said Frauenfelder. “As our state begins the redistricting process and continues to work to address the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic, I am excited to join the NCDP team to continue fighting for progress for all North Carolinians.”
