North Carolina Democratic Party Chairman Wayne Goodwin released the following statement on the inauguration of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.

“It’s a new day in America. North Carolina Democrats join families across the country today in congratulating President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris on their historic inauguration. Joe Biden set out to restore the soul of our nation and today, his swearing in sets our country on a path of healing, unity, and hope — a path that leads to a more just and equal America for all people. And with Kamala Harris by his side, the first woman and person of color to be elected to the office of Vice President, Joe Biden will restore the promise of our nation as countless Americans see new doors open for their daughters and for themselves.
