Today in Wilmington, State Representative and CD-07 candidate Charles Graham, SD-7 candidate Marcia Morgan, HD-20 candidate Amy Block DeLoach, and 7th Congressional District Chair Sonya Bennetone hosted a press conference calling out Ted Budd for his dangerous agenda and standing with Trump in his efforts to undermine democracy and sow doubt in elections.
“Congressman Budd continues to show North Carolina voters exactly who he is – an election denier who falls in line with the most far-right fringes of the Republican Party,” said North Carolina Democratic Party spokesperson, Kate Frauenfelder. “This November, North Carolinians will stand up to the GOP extremism that is threatening our democracy and fundamental freedoms.”

“As a veteran, I never imagined that the greatest threats to our democracy would be right here at home,” said SD-7 candidate Marcia Morgan. “Congressman Budd and North Carolina Republicans that are standing with Trump today are a direct threat to our democracy and – if elected – will continue to put the American values that so many veterans fought for in danger.”
“The violent attacks on our Capitol on January 6th showed us that our democracy is not guaranteed. But Ted Budd called it nothing,” said HD-20 candidate Amy Block DeLoach. “It’s clear that it is on us to protect our democracy. We cannot let our state and our democracy be dragged down by dangerous politicians who will do anything to hold onto power – even if it costs us our democracy.”
