Raleigh – The DC Democratic Party, in partnership with DC Blue Wave, has launched a campaign to help Democrats win big in North Carolina, entitled Flip NC for DC. The campaign includes phone banks, text banks, postcarding, candidate meet-and-greets, debate watch parties, and more. 

“We have decided to focus our efforts on flipping North Carolina in order to utilize our volunteer base in the most targeted way,” said DC Democratic Party Chairman, Charles Wilson. “We felt that DC Democrats can have a huge impact on helping turn North Carolina blue, and in addition, the candidates we support can help us achieve DC statehood. This is a win-win for both our states, and we are incredibly excited about this partnership.”

As the only state in the country that is a presidential swing state, has competitive U.S. Senate and Gubernatorial races, and could flip control of its statehouse just ahead of redistricting, North Carolina is a crucial state for Democrats. 

“We are so grateful for the support we have received from the DC Democratic Party,” said NC Democratic Party Chairman, Wayne Goodwin. “North Carolina is the biggest battleground state this year and this support is invaluable in our fight to turn North Carolina blue. This year, with competitive presidential, senatorial and congressional races, North Carolina will help decide the balance of power in Washington and we are excited to work with DC Democrats to move our country forward.”
