New reports today show that US jobless claims dropped to a new pandemic-era low for the 7th week in a row and the number of new COVID-19 cases has dropped for the 5th straight week. These milestones are because of President Biden’s and Democrats’ American Rescue Plan — and have been achieved no thanks to North Carolina Republicans in Congress who all voted against the badly-needed relief package.

“The American Rescue Plan is working. With Democratic leadership, we’re getting the pandemic under control, boosting our economy by putting working families first, and getting folks back to work,” said NCDP Chair Bobbie Richardson. “While we still have a long way to go before we reach full recovery, President Biden is ensuring we build North Carolina back stronger than ever before.”
