Neighborhood Watch, Where’s The Budget?, Day of Action
Our Digital Messages This Week 👇
Neighborhood Watch
This week, at the direction of Donald Trump, North Carolina has become the latest target of his unwarranted, unethical, and deeply unpopular immigration “policies.” Border Patrol agents are patrolling neighborhoods, intimidating families, and terrorizing our neighbors — many of whom are U.S. citizens — simply because of the way they look, speak, or where they shop.
No one should fear walking out their front door. No child should worry that their family might not come home. No community in North Carolina should be turned into a political stage for cruelty.
Let’s be clear: Democrats reject this fear-mongering. We stand firmly with every neighbor, every family, and every community affected. Our strength comes from unity. In moments like these, we protect one another by staying informed, staying connected, and sharing trusted resources.
We encourage you to pass along the tools below to help keep your community safe, empowered, and aware of their rights. When we look out for each other — when we show up for each other — we reject the abuse of power unfolding on our streets.
Stay peaceful. Stay safe. Stay united.

Where’s The Budget?
North Carolina is now more than 130 days without a state budget — the only state in the country without one. Republicans have continued to delay, disappear, and dodge the responsibility of doing their damn jobs. This isn’t just a political failure. It’s a constitutional one. The NCGA must pass a state budget. Instead, Republicans have left North Carolinians with blocked funding, frozen programs, rising uncertainty, and a Medicaid crisis they single-handedly created.
Governor Josh Stein recently called for a special session to provide the urgent Medicaid funding needed so our most vulnerable communities can continue receiving medical care. Republicans rejected it outright. Phil Berger won’t even agree to hold a vote on funding Medicaid by next May!
Enough is enough.
This Wednesday, members of the NC Senate Democratic Caucus are doing what Republican legislators won’t: showing up, listening, and making space for the people paying the price for this failure. Democrats will host a public hearing at the General Assembly to highlight the real-world consequences of the legislature’s refusal to pass a budget — the impact on classrooms, hospitals, small businesses, workers, and families.
Join us as we pack the gallery on Wednesday November 19th from 1:00 to 3:00 PM in the NCGA Auditorium. This is our moment to fill every seat and remind lawmakers exactly who they serve. Your voice, your presence, and your solidarity matter — especially when Republican leadership would prefer to keep these failures out of sight.
Democrats are choosing action over excuses. Showing up instead of hiding. Listening instead of shutting the door. We’re inviting every North Carolinian who’s tired of the chaos to stand with us.
Day of Action
You can’t make progress without action! That’s why we are calling on all of you, to come together for our Day of Action canvass on Saturday, December 19th. Our Day of Service canvass is one of the most direct, meaningful ways we can protect democracy right here at home.Â
Right now, thousands of North Carolinians are on the NC Board of Elections’ “Registration Repair” list simply because their voter registration is missing an ID number. These are our coworkers, our classmates, our church members, our friends. If we don’t help them fix it now, they’ll be forced to cast a provisional ballot the next time they vote — risking delays, confusion, or even having their ballot tossed out entirely.
That’s where you come in.
Whether you’ve canvassed a hundred times or this is your first, there’s a place for you. We have multiple time slots available, and every single conversation matters. When we show up together, we strengthen our communities, empower our voters, and make the promise of democracy real for every North Carolinian.
Sign up for a shift, bring a friend, and help us protect the vote!
Happy Birthday, Joe!
On November 20th, we celebrate a man who showed America what real leadership looks like. From record job growth to historic investments in infrastructure, from protecting reproductive freedoms to defending our veterans and our democracy, President Joe Biden delivered for North Carolina and for our nation.
Together, let’s celebrate his dedication to a lifetime of public service. His endless fight protecting healthcare, standing up for working families, defending democracy, and fighting every single day for a country that includes all of us.
Happy birthday, President Biden. Here’s to many more!
That’s a wrap for this week’s messaging!
We encourage you to take the content from this week’s package and share it across your social media platforms. Remember, your voice has the power to start a movement! This is for you to use in your community, so COPY, PASTE, and SPREAD the word!
See y’all on the internet!
