“Since being put in charge of Hurricane Helene federal recovery efforts ten months ago, Michael Whatley has left Western North Carolina behind and failed to deliver relief to communities struggling to rebuild. It’s no wonder Western North Carolinians are calling for his replacement,” said North Carolina Democratic Party Chair Anderson Clayton. “If North Carolinians don’t think Whatley is capable of doing his current job, why would they ever promote him to the U.S. Senate?”
