NC House Democratic Caucus Political Director Da’Quan Love issued the following statement in response to Republicans refusing to stop NC’s anti-face mask law from going into effect August 2. 

“North Carolina House Republicans are doing all they can to undermine Public Health. Wearing masks saves lives, but they refuse to stop NC’s old, unrelated anti-face mask law from going into effect on August 2.  Public health professionals recommend not opening bars, indoor arcades, and other higher-risk activities, but NC House Republicans continue to push re-opening bills even at two and three in the morning.  We need to follow public health recommendations, stop the spread, and re-open safely and for the long-haul.”
