“This February, Democrats call on our fellow North Carolinians to honor and celebrate Black history, the sacrifices made by those giants who came before us, and the achievements of our brothers and sisters who have impacted our nation’s history in a profound way. May we also reflect on and move to improve upon the ongoing struggles of Black Americans in this country and the systemic racism that continues to needlessly, brutally, and unjustly take and affect Black lives. North Carolina Democrats remain committed to the work to push America toward justice and to fulfilling the promise of our unalienable rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.”
