Jackson Delivers!

When Donald Trump tried to play politics with public education, North Carolina’s Attorney General Jeff Jackson didn’t wait around — he took action. Alongside 23 other states, he sued the Trump administration for unlawfully blocking $6.8 billion in education funding, including more than $165 million owed to North Carolina.

Now, thanks to that legal pressure, the Department of Education is backing down and releasing every single dollar. Schools can finally move forward — hiring teachers, funding after-school programs, and preparing for the year ahead without fear.

This is just the latest in a growing list of courtroom wins for Jeff Jackson, who’s quickly becoming a wall between Trump’s chaos and North Carolina’s future. If you’re looking for leaders who fight and win — you’re looking at Democrats like him.

The 2025 Unity Dinner was more than a celebration — it was a declaration. From every corner of North Carolina, Democrats gathered not just to reflect, but to rally. Governor JB Pritzker’s keynote lit up the room with passion, grit, and a fearless call to action, it’s safe to say we’re heading into 2026 with fire and purpose.

We talked about protecting our democracy, pushing back against extremism, and showing up — unapologetically — for working families. We looked around the room and saw leaders, volunteers, organizers, and voters who refuse to back down.

60 Years of Medicaid & Medicare

For 60 years, Medicare and Medicaid have delivered on the promise that no American should go broke just because they get sick. It was Democrats that created these programs — and we’re still the ones expanding and defending them. Just last year, Governor Cooper expanded Medicaid to cover over 650,000 North Carolinians, including thousands in rural communities who had gone without care for too long.

Meanwhile, Republicans like rumored Senate candidate Michael Whatley called gutting that coverage a “huge win.” A win for who, exactly? Because it sure isn’t working families. The GOP’s plans to cut Medicaid and Medicare will devastate our rural hospitals, blow a hole in our state budget, and rip health care away from those who need it most.

60 years later, the stakes couldn’t be higher — and we’re not backing down. Because your health care should never be up for debate.
