QUICK CLIP: Tillis Underwater with Voters After Sham Trial, Ethics Complaint

WRAL in Raleigh released new comprehensive polling examining incumbent Senator Thom Tillis’ standing in North Carolina – and it’s not good news for Tillis.

After a rough few weeks where he rubber stamped a sham trail without new witnesses or testimony, and after a new ethics complaint exposed his shady fundraising practices, Tillis is underwater with voters and “42% don’t like the job he’s doing.” (The full poll found Tillis losing ground with key groups, including both women and independents.)

Watch the clip here:

“Incumbent Republican Thom Tillis has a job approval rating of 38%. In the wake of the impeachment trial and an ethics complaint, 42% don’t like the job he’s doing”

Earlier this week, WRAL examined that ethics complaint, noting that Tillis “used official resources and his position on the Senate Judiciary Committee to raise money for his reelection campaign.”

Watch that clip here:

“An ethics complaint has been filed against Thom Tillis. The complaint from the North Carolina Democratic Party alleges that Tillis used official resources and his position on the Senate Judiciary Committee to raise money for his reelection campaign. It centers on a email where the sender was listed as ‘Judicial Committee member’ and was signed in his official capacity: ‘Senator Thom Tillis, Judiciary Committee Member.’”
