North Carolina Democratic Party Chairman Wayne Goodwin has released the following statement on the passing of former Lt. Governor Bob Jordan: 

“The entire North Carolina Democratic Party family is deeply saddened to hear of Lt. Governor Jordan’s passing. Bob Jordan served this state tirelessly as Lt. Governor, State Senator and an advocate for economic and educational opportunities. He proved instrumental in creating a better educated North Carolina, helping usher through the Basic Education Program, the Teaching Fellows program, and the passage of a $3.2 billion school facilities act to expand school construction across the state. We mourn with the entire Jordan family but also celebrate the work of Lt. Governor Jordan and his commitment to a better North Carolina.”
