Raleigh – NCDP Chairman Wayne Goodwin released the following statement in response to a new lawsuit challenging North Carolina’s gerrymandered congressional districts:

“North Carolinian voices have been silenced by a decade of Republicans’ deliberate racial and partisan gerrymandering. Our state’s congressional districts are some of the worst offenders in the nation, built to protect Republicans and disregard the will of the voters. We believe strongly in fair maps that allow the voters to choose their legislators – not the other way around – and this lawsuit is a positive step toward returning power to North Carolina’s people.”
