In response to news that North Carolina recorded its highest single-day number of coronavirus deaths since the pandemic began, NCDP Chairman Wayne Goodwin released the following statement:

“Today’s news is a disheartening reminder that no matter how many times Donald Trump says this virus will ‘disappear,’ North Carolina’s battle with the coronavirus is very far from over. For months the president has undermined public health experts, spread dangerous misinformation and failed to provide states like North Carolina with the equipment, supplies and economic relief we need to address this pandemic. As Michelle Obama said last night, Trump is simply not up to the task of leading us out of this crisis. He has failed the leadership test at every turn, and in doing so he has shown us exactly why we need Joe Biden and Kamala Harris in the White House.”
