North Carolina Democratic Party (NCDP) Chair Bobbie Richardson released the following statement on the Supreme Court’s decision to allow a challenge to Texas’ abortion ban: 

“Today’s ruling by the Supreme Court once again puts the freedom for pregnant people to make their own health care decisions in grave danger and is further proof that Republicans are determined to undermine people’s rights to make fundamental decisions impacting their bodies, families and futures. In 2022, North Carolina voters are ready to stand up against these full-on attacks and to elect candidates up and down the ballot who will protect the fundamental right to equitable access to abortion and reproductive health care for everyone.”
