“I Hope That They End It”: Trump Again Reveals Trump-Tillis Health Care Plan

President Trump just now again said the quiet part out loud about Republicans’ health care plan, saying about the Supreme Court and a Tillis-backed lawsuit to end the ACA: “I hope that they end it. It’ll be so good if they end it.”
President Trump’s wish that the Supreme Court ends the ACA and protections for pre-existing conditions comes after Senator Tillis helped rush through a Supreme Court nominee who has been a “vocal opponent” of the ACA.

Senator Tillis has desperately tried to lie about his health care record and the future of protections for people with pre-existing conditions for the past two years, at one point saying “for the life of me I can’t understand why anyone would be opposed to” protections for pre-existing conditions.

His record, however, tells a different story. Senator Tillis has confirmedrepeatedly his support for the Republican lawsuit to end the ACA. He’s voted 15 times against the ACA which provides protections for pre-existing conditions, calling one of those votes “courageous.” And now, just 12 days before an election, the President has confirmed that the Republican health care plan is to rush through a lifetime appointment in order to do in the courts what they failed to do in the Senate.

“If anyone needed any more reason why Senator Tillis is rushing forward with a Supreme Court nominee hostile to our health care, President Trump just made it crystal clear,” NCDP spokesperson Robert Howard said. “Senator Tillis and President Trump are putting a new justice on the court before the election so that they can end the Affordable Care Act and protections for North Carolinians with pre-existing conditions. Every family’s health care is on the ballot this November – President Trump just ensured it.”
