Does Michael Whatley Agree That Skyrocketing Gas Prices Are “A Very Small Price to Pay?”

As North Carolina families face a more than 50 cent per gallon spike at the gas pump in just one week and as President Trump insists that rising gas prices are “a very small price to pay,” North Carolinians deserve to know: does DC insider and Big Oil lobbyist Michael Whatley agree that surging gas prices are a “small price” for North Carolina families to pay?

Whatley has already proven how out of touch he is, repeatedly claiming inflation is “way down” and “costs are coming down.”

“As North Carolinians face skyrocketing prices across the board, they deserve to know if Michael Whatley agrees that rising gas prices are ‘a small price’ for them to pay,” said Mallory Payne, senior communications advisor for the North Carolina Democratic Party.

WTVD: “As spring break nears for schools and universities across North Carolina, families are finalizing travel plans while watching rising fuel prices. […] ‘It was kind of a shocker,’ said Raleigh resident Everett Bolton, who filled up his tank for the first time since prices spiked. Others, including Brett Kuck, worry the increases may continue. ‘I’m kind of afraid that it’s going to go up higher in the coming weeks,’ he said.
