Democratic Leadership Releases Statements on Primary Night Returns for General Assembly

Raleigh, NC – Tonight’s primary election results have made it clear that the Democrats running for the General Assembly will reflect the diverse life experiences of hardworking North Carolinians. 

NCDP Chair Bobbie Richardson released the following statement on the Democrats running for the General Assembly:

“Democrats running for the General Assembly include veterans, firefighters, parents, farmers, small business owners, faith leaders, teachers, and health care workers. I am so proud to have a General Assembly slate which represents the best of what our state has to offer. The North Carolina Democratic Party knows the importance of our General Assembly and is prepared to do what it takes to send every one of them to Raleigh this November.” 

Senate Leader Dan Blue released the following statement on the Democrats running for North Carolina Senate:

“I am thankful to all of the candidates who stepped up to run for the North Carolina Senate. The voters have chosen an incredibly strong slate of Democrats who have the experience and the character to build a North Carolina that works for everyone. Senate Democrats are committed to advancing an agenda that puts our families and communities first. Now, it’s time to get to work electing more Democrats to the state Senate.”

House Leader Robert Reives released the following statement on the Democrats running for North Carolina House: 

“Democrats running for the North Carolina House reflect the best of what our communities have to offer and show us what our state can become. From their experiences as faith leaders, farmers, health care workers, soldiers, law enforcement members, and teachers they understand what’s at stake and have stepped up in tremendous ways to help us shape our future.
