Today, Michele Morrow filed to run in the GOP primary for U.S. Senate, escalating an already messy primary between DC insider Michael Whatley and MAGA extremist Don Brown.
“Michele Morrow is a Q-Anon conspiracy theorist who has attacked educators, called for the televised execution of Governor Cooper and other leaders, and participated in events that led to the deadly January 6th insurrection,” said NCDP Chair Anderson Clayton. “One thing is clear: Whichever GOP candidate makes it out of this messy race to the bottom will be too extreme and dangerous for North Carolina.”
Michele Morrow is a conspiracy theorist who is too extreme for North Carolina.
- Morrow has promoted Q-Anon conspiracy theories, called educators “groomers,” and called public schools “indoctrination centers.”
- Morrow livestreamed “after attending the January 6 riot at the US Capitol” that led to the insurrection and the death of multiple law enforcement officers.
- She called for the execution of Governor Roy Cooper, and televised execution of former President Barack Obama, and other elected officials.
As the primary field grows, the GOP base is making it clear they don’t want a DC insider and Big Oil lobbyist like Michael Whatley representing them in the U.S. Senate.
