As Budd Fundraises In Charlotte, 5 Ways He Has Voted Against Their Interests

As Ted Budd travels the state hosting private fundraisers instead of meeting with voters, we’re continuing to highlight the ways in which he’s failed communities across the Tar Heel State – today in Charlotte, North Carolina.

As Budd fundraises in Charlotte this evening, take a look at five ways he’s voted against their best interests:

  • He voted against $59 million in American Rescue Plan Act funding that was invested in Mecklenburg County to help those hardest hit by the pandemic, including helping to close the county’s EMT and paramedic shortage.
  • No thanks to Ted Budd, good-paying jobs are coming to Charlotte through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law’s investment in infrastructure projects like improving the Charlotte-Douglas airport.
  • Despite wide support from both Republicans and Democrats, Budd voted against the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law that will provide at least $100 million in funding to lower Internet costs for Charlotte residents like Tiffany White who says it’s allowed her to “pay my bills, go to school, online bank and to have video conferencing with family and friends.”
  • Charlotte was able to invest in workforce development and training programs thanks to the American Rescue Plan – but Ted Budd voted against it.
  • Budd has “agreed with the major points” of the Republican plan that Charlotte resident Tina Marshall said would raise medical bills for seniors like her. According to the Kaiser Family Foundation, Medicare currently makes over $12 billion in payments for North Carolina recipients each year, which would be more than $9,000 per enrollee in North Carolina.
