With days to go before the GOP primary for U.S. Senate, the Republican base  continues to sour on Big Oil lobbyist and DC political hack Michael Whatley. 

The Daily Haymaker: “Whatley is a lobbyist who has spent his entire adult professional life in the DC swamp.”

Whatley’s opponents have slammed him for being a DC insider running an uninspiring campaign. Michele Morrow blasted politicians like Whatley who go to “Washington D.C. with the intention of coming out with more money.” Don Brown said, “no matter how much Whatley can raise, you simply cannot buy excitement.”

Even Trump world has sounded the alarm, with Steve Bannon saying “if you talk to the MAGA folks down there, they’re just not enthusiastic about [Whatley].” Former Trump advisor Matt Braynard called on Whatley to drop out, saying ”he was the wrong candidate from the beginning.”
