As Republican Senators Thom Tillis and Ted Budd join bipartisan calls for an independent investigation into ICE’s fatal shooting of Alex Pretti, DC insider Michael Whatley has stayed silent. Whatley has said nothing about the earth-shattering events in Minnesota over the weekend, refusing to condemn the death of American citizens or share where he stands on an investigation of ICE. 

“As Republicans Thom Tillis and Ted Budd call for an investigation into the death of an American citizen, Michael Whatley’s complete silence is deafening,” said NCDP spokesperson Mallory Payne. “It’s been five days – where does Whatley stand and what is taking him so long to say it? Whatley continues to prove he will never be an independent voice who stands up for North Carolinians.”
