Our Digital Messages This Week đ
Run for Office đââĄïž đą
Thinking about making a difference? This is your sign!
Filing is open for municipalities across our state â and we need Democrats like you to step up, speak out, and lead. From now until July 18th at noon, everyday folks have the chance to become local champions for justice, progress, and real community change. Because real, lasting change doesnât always start in Washington â it starts right here at home. In our towns, our schools, our counties. These races shape our schools, our streets, our public safety, and our future. Find more information at your county’s board of elections here.
We get it â running for office might sound a little scary. But youâre not doing it alone. The North Carolina Democratic Party and our Democratic communities are here to support you, uplift your voice, and help turn your passion into action. So if you’ve ever asked, âWhy doesnât someone do something?â â maybe that someone is you. Maybe itâs someone in your life or community who just needs a little encouragement.
Letâs fill the ballot with Democrats ready to fight for working families, protect our freedoms, and make sure every community is heard. The deadline is coming fast. Let’s get to it.
Shame đ«
Every. Single. North Carolina Republican. In the U.S. House voted for the so-called âBig Beautiful Billââa billionaire-backed disaster that rips Medicaid away from over 650,000 North Carolinians, jacks up our energy bills by 18%, and yanks food assistance from kids and families who need it most.
All that painâjust to give Donald Trump and his mega-donors another tax break. These Republicans should be ashamed. However, you and I both know, they’re not. Theyâre busy celebrating on social media, grinning about the damage they just did to the folks who make this state great.
While the shameless Republicans celebrate, weâre organizing and we’re coming for their seats. We the people, are ready to send a big, beautiful, blue wave crashing through the House in 2026.
If you or someone you know is being impacted by the cruel cuts to Medicaid or SNAP, we want to hear from you. Real stories matterâand your voice could help hold these shameless Republicans accountable. Email us at digital@ncdp.org.
Tariff Tantrum đ€Ź
Donald is back on his tariff rollercoaster â tariffs on, tariffs off, repeat â and folks, the only thing heâs making great again is global confusion. This isnât the âArt of the Deal,â itâs chaos in a red hat. A guessing game thatâs tanked our markets, rattled small businesses, and torched trust with our allies.
As one of his self-imposed âdeadlinesâ loomed, Trump fired off a batch of âstrongly wordedâ trade letters to our global partners. Honestly? Weâre shocked they werenât written in crayon. He made America sound less like a global leader and more like a playground bully. Letâs not pretend this is new. Trump has never cared about farmers or working families. He doesnât understand the value of diplomacy â only create chaos to grab more power for himself.
North Carolina canât afford another round of his economic whiplash. In 2026 and beyond, we need leaders who understand trade, value stability, and have the backbone to stand up to Donald’s tariff tantrums.
