Democrats Win Big: Election Recap

Y’all we did the DEM thing!

Election Night 2025 sent a clear message from coast to coast: the Democratic Party is back. From our biggest cities to our most rural communities, North Carolinians stood up and said loud and clear that they’re ready for progress, fairness, and leadership that puts people first.

Democrats didn’t just make noise — we made history. North Carolina Democrats swept over 631 races, flipped over 150 seats, and reminded North Carolina what people-powered change looks like. This wasn’t luck; it was the product of grit, organizing, and heart. It was our volunteers knocking doors, calling neighbors, and voters refusing to let Republican chaos define who we are.

This election showed something powerful: change isn’t coming someday — it’s already here.

We saw something North Carolina hasn’t seen in a long time. We defeated a six-term Republican incumbent in Wake Forest, unseated a two-term GOP mayor in Fuquay-Varina, and flipped a Republican-held Charlotte City Council seat for the first time in more than a decade. We flipped the mayorships of Burlington, Graham, and Warsaw, and secured seats up and down the ballot.

These victories didn’t just happen — we made them happen. Volunteers and donors like you showed up and showed out:

  • 250,000 doors knocked
  • 250,000 phone calls made
  • 5,000 volunteers trained
  • Hundreds recruited and mobilized statewide

Folks showed up for fairness, freedom, and a better future — and Democrats delivered.

Now, we carry that fire straight into 2026. We’re ready to re-elect Justice Anita Earls to defend fairness on our courts and send Roy Cooper to Washington as North Carolina’s next U.S. Senator. Together, we’re building a future that honors truth, expands opportunity, and protects democracy for every North Carolinian.

Keep the fire burning — the comeback isn’t coming, it’s happening right now!

Veterans Day

Every corner of North Carolina carries a story of service — a neighbor, a parent, a friend who raised their hand and put everything on the line for something bigger than themselves. Veterans Day isn’t just about honoring that courage; it’s about living up to the promise we made to them when they came home.

Democrats are committed to honoring our veterans not just while they’re fighting for us, but long after they return home. Real gratitude means ensuring they have healthcare that heals, benefits that arrive on time, and opportunities that last a lifetime. It’s about building a North Carolina where every veteran, from the mountains to the coast and every town in between, has the support they’ve earned and the dignity they deserve.

This week, we celebrate the heroes who have carried our flag and continue to carry our communities. Their service never stopped and neither should ours.

Happy Veterans Day.

Shutdown History

While Democrats showed strength in victories and made history this election, Donald’s weakness set a new kind of record — dragging America into the longest government shutdown in history. Breaking his own record of 35 days, proving that Republicans have failed us — again.

Republicans are failing at every level of government — in Raleigh, in Washington, and everywhere in between. Nearly a million families across North Carolina are watching their health care premiums double, triple, and even quadruple overnight. Every day this shutdown drags on, Republicans remind us exactly who they are: a party more focused on power than people, politics than progress, and control than compassion.

They’ve turned our government into a weapon, using families as leverage for their political games. While they posture on camera, North Carolinians are watching their premiums skyrocket, their paychecks vanish, and their patience run out.

This shutdown isn’t just a lapse in governance — it’s a moral failure. It’s proof that today’s Republican Party would rather burn the system down than fix the crisis they created.

Here’s what Democrats are doing: We’re standing firm for the right to affordable healthcare, demanding action to get workers paid, families fed, and fighting to reopen the government so communities can breathe again. Democrats are showing up — in Congress, in Raleigh, and in every community across North Carolina — to protect the people the GOP left behind.

The same energy that fueled our 2025 wins will carry us through this crisis and into 2026 — stronger, louder, and more united than ever.

That’s a wrap for this week’s messaging!
