Protect The Future, Whatley’s Agenda, Happy Holidays
Our Digital Messages This Week đ
Protect the Future
As we count down to the New Year, many of us have a heavy heart. We stand in prayers for the Brown University community as we know even students from our own state were impacted or injured in the terrible event over the weekend.
When we think about education, many of us consider it an opportunity for freedom, the gateway to success. But our children and educational systems are under attack at all levels. From North Carolina campus voter sites being removed to keep our young people from exercising their rights to vote, to the nearly $700M in our stateâs public school funding being held up in the court for almost two years now by Republican NC Chief Justice Paul Newby, to parentsâ ever-present fear that itâs only a matter of time until the next school shooting â itâs a lot for families to bear. Â
We stand in solidarity with students at Brown and everywhere. Each and every one of your children deserves to live without fear and to be empowered with the tools to make our country a better place for all.
Our work at the Party is to elect good folks who will fight for those rights and more, and weâre so grateful to be in solidarity with you, our reader.Â
Whatleyâs D.C. Agenda
Donald Trump is coming to North Carolina, bringing his âaffordabilityâ tour to Rocky Mount on Friday night. But we know DC Republicans arenât making life more affordable. Their agenda is making health care costs skyrocket for North Carolina families. And GOP Senate candidate Michael Whatley is welcoming this agenda with open arms to bring this agenda to NC.
NCDP will be holding a rally on Friday morning to make sure North Carolinians know that Trump and Whatleyâs agenda is making health care premiums skyrocket by double or more on January 1st â less than two weeks away.Â
If you live in or near the Triangle, please join us for the rally on Friday! See details and RSVP here: ncdp.org/rally.Â
If youâre not in the Triangle, you can share content about the rally on Twitter/X from @NCDemParty and @TeamCooperNC!
People Over Portfolios
Earlier this week, Roy Cooper announced his support for a ban on trading of individual stocks for members of Congress and top Executive Branch officials â hereâs a video of the announcement to share with your networks!
Read more about this announcement below:

Share Royâs announcement and video with folks to make sure Washington knows we want elected officials who are working for us â not themselves!
Happy Holidays, North Carolina!
This year, North Carolinians showed up. You knocked doors, made calls, chipped in when it mattered most, shared the facts, protected the vote, and stood up for one another â even when the work was hard and the stakes were high. Because of you, we defended our values, protected key victories, and continued building the people-powered movement this state deserves.
Every conversation had an impact and every action mattered.
Together, we pushed back against voter suppression, fought for access to health care and education, and helped flip local races from red to blue across the state. We showed â once again â that when North Carolina Democrats organize, we win.
Now, as we head into the holidays, take time to rest, recharge, and be with the people who ground you. Celebrate the moments that matter. The work continues, but so does the joy and community that fuel it.
When we ring in the New Year, weâll do it with purpose and with our eyes firmly set on 2026. The road ahead is clear, the stakes are high, and we are ready. Ready to organize. Ready to turn out. Ready to win.
From all of us, thank you for being part of this movement.

Join us at the state Capitol in downtown Raleigh on Friday (12/19) at 10am for a rally to show that North Carolinians will reject this agenda in 2026 and make sure Whatley never makes it to the U.S. Senate to keep threatening our health care.
