North Carolina Democratic Party (NCDP) Chair Bobbie Richardson released the following statement on Congressman David Price’s (NC-04) announcement that he will not be running for re-election after many years of service in Congress: 

“Congressman David Price has served North Carolina with distinction for over 30 years, fighting to increase access to transportation, expand education, make housing more affordable, and ensure transparency in elections and campaigns.

“From Executive Director and Chair of the state Democratic Party to representing North Carolinians in the 4th Congressional District, Congressman Price has dedicated his life to moving our state forward and ensuring North Carolina families are able to live a healthier, more prosperous life.

“His wisdom, influence, and leadership will be sorely missed in the halls of Congress. We are deeply grateful for his commitment to our state and people, and wish him and his wife Lisa a well-deserved retirement.”
