North Carolina Democratic Party (NCDP) Spokesperson Ellie Dougherty released the following statement on Senator Phil Berger’s comments on restricting abortion access: 

“After months of pushing to reinstate an abortion ban in North Carolina, Phil Berger and Republicans have now admitted they want even more extreme restrictions imposed on women in our state. Make no mistake: the GOP’s anti-choice agenda is dangerous and overwhelmingly unpopular with North Carolinians. Republicans’ extremism makes clear that North Carolinians can’t afford GOP control this November.”
