Ahead of President Biden’s State of the Union address tonight, North Carolina Democratic Party Chair Bobbie Richardson released the following statement: 

“Less than 100 days on the job, President Biden and Democrats passed the American Rescue Plan to provide historic relief to North Carolinians and Americans across the country. On infrastructure, President Biden got done in one year what President Trump couldn’t in four. And in his first year in office, our country saw its fastest economic growth since 1984 and the most jobs created in one year ever. 

“While we celebrate these accomplishments, President Biden knows we have more work to do – to keep wages up and prices down – so that working families in North Carolina can get ahead. Meanwhile, National Republican Senatorial Committee Chair Rick Scott laid out a blueprint last week confirming that the Republican agenda is about raising taxes on half of Americans.

“The differences between President Biden and Democrats’ vision for the country versus Republicans’ are night and day. We look forward to President Biden making this contrast tonight.”
