NCDP Welcomes Vice President Harris, Secretary Walsh to Durham

Ahead of Vice President Kamala Harris and Secretary of Labor Marty Walsh’s tour of Durham Technical Community College today to highlight the Biden-Harris administration’s work to create good-paying jobs, North Carolina Democratic Party Chair Bobbie Richardson released the following statement:

“We are thrilled to have Vice President Harris and Secretary Walsh visit Durham today. Thanks to the Biden-Harris administration, our country saw its fastest economic growth since 1984 and the most jobs created in one year ever.

“In North Carolina, in partnership with Governor Cooper’s strong leadership, this economic boom is leading to the creation of thousands of high-paying jobs, including recent announcements for Toyota to open its first North American battery plant megasite and Boom Supersonic to develop a manufacturing facility in North Carolina. The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law will continue this progress of creating good-paying jobs by repairing our roads and bridges, providing clean drinking water, expanding high-speed internet and much more.

“While there’s more work to do – to keep wages up and prices down – so that working families in North Carolina can get ahead, the Biden-Harris administration is leading our state and our country to recovery. As President Biden reported in his address last night, the State of the Union is strong because the American people, and most certainly North Carolinians, are strong.”
