To mark Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, NCDP Chair Bobbie Richardson and NCDP AAPI President Gracie Galloway released the following joint statement:  

“North Carolina Democrats are proud to celebrate the heritage of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders and pay tribute to the many generations who have made America what it is today and what we will be tomorrow. This month is an opportunity not only to celebrate the invaluable contributions of the AAPI community throughout history, but to rededicate ourselves to ending anti-Asian harassment and violence. While far too many times hate and violence have hidden in plain sight — in silence — we know that silence is not an option. We stand with the AAPI community in calling for action to stop these heinous, un-American crimes, and are proud to stand shoulder to shoulder in the continued fight for justice.”
