In the latest stop of the “This Budd Is Not For North Carolina” statewide tour, North Carolina Democratic Party District 11 Chair Matt Ballance, local parent Jessica Stepp Edney, and Gale Kemp, a Henderson County senior, held a press conference today highlighting how Ted Budd’s agenda is wrong for North Carolina.
“Whether it’s lowering the cost of gas, prescription drugs, health care premiums, child care, or ensuring access to formula – one thing remains the same: Ted Budd will always put the interests of wealthy corporations ahead of our state’s working families,” said NC-11 District Chair Matt Ballance.
As a mom, the stakes of the U.S. Senate race in North Carolina are at an all-time high. And I know one thing for sure – This Budd is not for North Carolina. Ted Budd is sending the message that he is willing to sell out families like mine to further his political career,” said local parent Jessica Stepp Edney.
“Simply put, North Carolina seniors and persons with disabilities who rely on Medicare or Social Security can’t afford Ted Budd in the U.S. Senate. We need to do everything to protect our Democratic majorities in Washington – Republican control would mean putting millions of North Carolinians’ Medicare and Social Security benefits in danger,” said Henderson County senior Gayle Kemp.
