NCDP Statement On the 21st Anniversary of 9/11 Attacks

North Carolina Democratic Party (NCDP) Chair Dr. Bobbie Richardson has released the following statement on Patriot Day in remembrance of those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001:

“It was twenty-one years ago today that the people of this country experienced the deadliest, most horrific terrorist attack ever endured on American soil – claiming 2,977 innocent lives and leaving a permanent mark on the soul of this nation. Even with over two decades now between us and the excruciating events of that day, families and communities here in North Carolina and across the country still feel the pain and devastation of the loss of their loved ones.

“It is on this day that the North Carolina Democratic Party would like to honor the heroism of Americans – from the firefighters and first responders who risked their lives to save others that day to the generation of men and women who answered the call to serve our country and defend our freedom abroad – and stand with our fellow citizens in prayer and remembrance of those lost on September 11. Their legacy will long endure in the heart of this nation. Today, as we reflect on over two decades of that legacy, we hope that we may find comfort in one another and in knowing that though gone, those lost will never be forgotten.”
